I'M INTERESTED. HOW DOES THIS PROCESS WORK?
I'm happy you're considering a postpartum doula and am honored you're here! If you think postpartum doula services might be for you, please send me an email or give me a call. We will schedule a time to chat on the phone or meet in person (your preference) and we can then decide if we are a match (I hope we are). During this meeting, we can discuss your anticipated needs and pick a package of services.
DOULAS SOUND LIKE HIPPY DIPPY STUFF. I'M NOT SURE I'M INTO THAT.
Ok well that's not really a question but the cool thing about doulas is that we serve ALL KINDS of families. I will meet you where you are, empowering you to make the best choices for you and your baby. I'm here to support YOU- whether your baby was born vaginally or by C-section, whether you eat organic or plan to order pizza every other night (although I may encourage you to eat a carrot or two!) or whether you breastfeed or bottle feed your baby. And if you're into hippy dippy stuff, I'm here to support you too!
HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PACKAGE IS RIGHT FOR ME?
During our first meeting (which is free by the way) we can discuss your anticipated needs, go over packages and agree on services. Most postpartum doulas begin support during the first week after baby's birth. This is when my support can be most helpful and effective. We will work closely to design a postpartum support plan that works for you.
WHAT IS IT LIKE HAVING SOMEONE IN MY HOME?
Postpartum doulas are trained to enter quietly, tread softly, observe, connect, and move with gentleness. Hopefully I can be a peaceful addition to your postpartum time. My role is to be a sort of quiet postpartum fairy godmother, creating magic in your home while you rest and care for your baby.
